Discussion
Low-level convergence aided by a favourable upper-level pattern is currently generating pockets of heavy to intense showers, periods of rain and thunderstorm activity across the island. Parts of Christ Church and St. Philip have already recorded between 1 and 2 inches of rainfall this morning, 17th November, 2024. Additional rainfall accumulations between 1 and 2 inches with isolated higher amounts, is possible this afternoon and tonight therefore the FLASH-FLOOD WATCH remains in effect.
General Information
A flash-flood watch is issued when heavy or excessive rainfall in a short period of time (generally less than 6 hours) could result in flash flooding within the watch area. It does not mean that flooding will occur, but it is possible. This Flash Flood Watch was updated at 12 Noon Sunday 17th November, 2024 and will be updated/terminated at 6 PM or sooner if conditions warrant.
