Possible Impacts
Key Message: Possible moderate to significant:-. Runoff from higher elevations. Soil erosion on exposed or scarred land surfaces. Water settlements on roads and fields at the foot of hills and coastal roads. Adjustments to water levels of existing water bodies (ponds etc.). Objects or debris from higher elevations become embedded within fast-moving water flows. Delays on traffic routes with some roads becoming impassable. Residents and visitors should also be aware that this alert level could elevate to red.

The public is encouraged to monitor the BMS, DEM and GIS websites and their respective social media pages along with the local media networks for further updates.
Discussion
A tropical wave is affecting the island. Alongside cloudy skies and possible thunderstorms, rainfall accumulations of 1 to 2 inches, in moderate to heavy showers, are expected across Barbados.

A flood watch is issued when the conditions are favorable for flooding within the next 48 hours. It does not mean that flooding will occur, but is possible. This Flood Watch was issued at 6:00 am, November 8th, 2024 and will be updated/terminated at 12:00 noon, November 8th, 2024 or sooner if conditions warrant. This Watch may be upgraded to a Warning if necessary.
