Description
As a tropical wave affects the island overnight, thunderstorm activity is possible. Therefore, the Barbados Meteorological Services has issued a thunderstorm watch.

Possible Impacts
Lighting activity at or near your location could result in power outages if lighting strikes power utility infrastructure. Persons are reminded that lightning strikes can be life-threatening.
What you should do
The public is encouraged to monitor the DEM and GIS websites and their respective social media pages along with the local media networks for further information on what you should do.
General Information
A severe-thunderstorm watch is issued when significant lightning activity is possible within the watch area.
This Severe Thunderstorm Watch is valid from 6:00 pm Wednesday 25th September 2024 and will be terminated at 6:00 am Thursday 26th September 2024 or sooner if conditions warrant.
