A shear line affecting the island generated intermittent moderate to heavy showers and a few isolated thunderstorms this morning. Pockets of moderate shower activity is expected to continue throughout the day which could generate flooding across low-lying areas. Therefore, the Barbados Meteorological Services has extended a flash-flood watch.
General Information
A flash-flood watch is issued when heavy or excessive rainfall in a short period of time (generally less than 6 hours) could result in flash flooding within the watch area. It does not mean that flooding will occur, but it is possible.
This Flash Flood Watch was issued at 12 Noon Tuesday 17th September 2024 and will be terminated at 6:00 pm today, Tuesday 17th September 2024 or sooner if conditions warrant.
