Discussion
Expected rainfall accumulations of 30.0 to 75.0 mm are likely to produce flooding in the flood-prone areas of the central, northern, and eastern sections of the island today. Therefore, the Barbados Meteorological Services has issued a flood-watch. These conditions will be most intense throughout the day with improvement coming into tonight.
General Information
A flash-flood watch is issued when heavy or excessive rainfall in a short period of time (generally less than 6 hours) could result in flash flooding within the watch area. It does not mean that flooding will occur, but it is possible. This Flash Flood Watch was issued at 8:45 am Thursday 19th September 2024 and will be terminated at 6:00 pm Thursday 20th September 2024 or sooner if conditions warrant.
