Description
The Barbados Meteorological Services is closely monitoring the progress of a Tropical Wave located in the eastern Atlantic along 30W, about 3170km or 1970 miles to the east of Barbados at 5:00 pm, Wednesday 26th June 2024.
Outlook:
The wave is expected to track generally westward at 15 to 20 mph over the next few days. On the current forecast track, the wave is expected to affect the island Sunday night into early Monday morning next week. As a reminder, the public is advised that this can change.
What you Should do:
The public is encouraged to monitor the BMS, DEM and GIS websites and their respective social media pages along with the local media networks for further updates.
Brief overview of feature:
Although the tropical wave is disorganized some slow development is expected over the next few days as it moves westwards around 15 to 20 miles per hour.
