Description
Lee remains a powerful and dangerous Category 4 hurricane in the Atlantic and is expected to remain a major hurricane over the next few days.
There are NO Watches or Warnings associated with this system for Barbados.
The Barbados Meteorological Services continues to monitor Hurricane Lee which was located near 18.2N 54.5W and moving west-northwestward at 13 mph at 11 am today Friday 8th September, 2023. The minimum central pressure is 942 mb with maximum sustained winds of 155 mph.
Guidance remains consistent in tracking the system well north of the Eastern Caribbean today into Saturday. Therefore no direct impacts from Lee are expected across Barbados. However, light winds speeds and warm conditions are expected today across the island which may trigger some localized shower activity across eastern districts this afternoon.
