Description

Hazard Info:-
**** Hazard Info ****
Throughout the course of the week, Barbados experienced wet and overcast conditions associated with a trough system. Unstable conditions are expected to persist throughout the night into tomorrow as a shear line affects the island. This feature has the potential to generate some pockets of moderate to heavy showers and periods of rain.
Residents and visitors are urged to remain on alert, as further accumulations of 1 to 2 inches across the island are possible during the next 24 hours.
Due to the already saturated nature of the soils, this watch could be upgraded to a warning at short notice.
Key Message:
Residents and visitors should be prepared for the possibility of:
Strong runoff from higher elevations.
Soil erosion on bared or scarred land surfaces.
Debris such as small rocks, mud and tree foliage could end up on roads and property.
Traffic delays.
Flooding at the foot of hillsides and coastal roads.
Large water settlements on roads and fields.
Significant delays on traffic routes with some roads possibly becoming impassable.
