This alert message is valid from 12 NOON today, Thursday 8th September, 2022 and will be TERMINATED at 6 PM Thursday 8th September, 2022 or sooner if conditions warrant.
A flash-flood watch is issued when heavy or excessive rainfall in a short period of time (generally less than 6 hours) could result in flash flooding within the watch area. It does not mean that flooding will occur, but it is possible.

A light south-easterly wind regime, adequate moisture and daytime heating are generating localized activity across north-western districts of Barbados. Accumulation of 1 to 2 inches of rainfall are forecast, which could result in flooding in the watch area.
Key Message:
Residents and visitors should be prepared for strong runoff from higher elevations.
Soil erosion likely on bared or scarred land surfaces.
Debris such as small rocks, mud and tree foliage could end up on roads and property.
Traffic delays are likely.
Flooding at the foot of hillsides and coastal roads is possible.
