Descripción
The Barbados Meteorological Services continues to monitor the progress of an area of interest in the tropical Atlantic and Tropical Depression Twenty.
*********************THIS STATEMENT IS NOT A WATCH OR WARNING****************
****************************** AREA OF INTEREST ***************************************
The broad area of low pressure in the central tropical Atlantic has weakened over the past 24 hours. This system remains disorganized and the possibility of tropical cyclone development will remain low over the next few days as the system encounters an unfavorable environment as it tracks west-northwestward.
*************************TROPICAL DEPRESSION TWENTY*******************************
The other area of interest developed into Tropical Depression number twenty, located near 8.3N 24.6W at 2pm Wednesday 29th September, 2021. This system has become better organized over the past 12 hours and tropical cyclone development is likely as the system tracks west-northwestward. A gradual turn towards the northwest is expected over the next few days. Based on this track, this system is not likely to pose any threat to the island.
The BMS advises the public to continue to monitor official sources for daily updates and remain prepared throughout the remainder of the hurricane season.
This will be the final statement on these systems.
