WEATHER INFORMATION STATEMENT ON TROPICAL WAVE EAST OF BARBADOS

Description
The Barbados Meteorological Services is closely monitoring the progress of a tropical wave located near 51W at 2 pm today Sunday 10th October 2021.
KEY MESSAGES:
.......... THIS SYSTEM IS NOT A TROPICAL STORM OR DEPRESSION ...........
...........THERE ARE NO TROPICAL STORM WARNINGS OR WATCHES IN EFFECT FOR BARBADOS........
The intensity of the convection associated with this wave has been fluctuating throughout the day. Some slow development is likely as the system encounters a marginally favorable environment over the next few days.
Analysis of model data indicates that the wave will begin to affect Barbados from Monday evening through to Tuesday morning. Scattered moderate to heavy showers, thunderstorms and gusty winds are possible as this system affects the island. This may result in flood watches or warnings being issued later on Monday afternoon if conditions warrant.
Recommendations to the public: Continue to monitor all OFFICIAL updates issued by the BMS.
